Some writers don?t like to talk in public. Some do. But all of us could probably use some tips on how to be a better speaker.

Here are seven tips you can learn from stand-up comedians:

1. Use humbling personal stories.?
2. Just say no to PowerPoint.?
3. Use gestures and facial expressions.
4. Move the audience through a roller coaster.
5 Step out from behind the lectern.?
6. Don?t use notes.?
7. Loop back to the beginning.
